Follow-Up to the Thousand-Word Post

Screen shot 2013-10-14 at 12.56.16 PMMany houses are on the market for many months, even years, before their anxious owners finally see a sign like this in their yard. We were fortunate that, in the case, the proceedings only took three or four months from start to finish. But still, it feels like the finalization of the sale was a long time coming.

Last week, we notified our realtors in Maryland that we were ready to move forward, and the closing is already scheduled for this Wednesday (October 16). That’s just two days away. Now, suddenly, it seems like things are moving quickly!

We’re happy and excited and feeling a bit of trepidation, with a number of details yet to be ironed out. We’ll be relieved when the move is a memory and we’re all settled in. Then, maybe I’ll start blogging regularly again. Maybe I’ll pick up the pace on book promotion. Maybe I’ll investigate my publication options more seriously. Maybe I’ll get started on the new writing project I’m currently outlining in my mind. Maybe I’ll get a job and start earning my keep (that was my husband’s suggestion). Only thing I know for sure at this moment: I need more boxes.
