Saturday SitRep

Although it’s only been a week since my last situation report, I’ve officially gotten a year older. Funny how that works.

It was a good week all around. I didn’t get much work done on my WIP, but unfortunately, I’m beginning to get used to that.

The biggest news today, I guess, is that this morning is my first practice with the church’s Christmas orchestra. The first rehearsal was actually last week, but I was busy making cookies then for the Lynn’s Cookies of Love project.

Years ago, our church had an orchestra that played every week, and I loved participating in it. Many years before that, I lived and breathed French horn. So I’m always excited for these rare occasions when I have opportunity to dust it off and get back into practice again. I’ve been limbering up for a few weeks now and feel confident that (since the arrangement we’re playing is at about a 6th grade level) I won’t embarrass myself.

Also in the news: I’ve taken on a new critiquing job. Which leads me to see that I’m going to have to take a serious look at organizing my time, or I won’t be able to pursue this as a business and write novels both.

Meanwhile, I’m off to play my horn!
