Six-Sentence Sunday

What is Six-Sentence Sunday? It’s where I share six sentences from something I’m writing or something I’ve written.

I don’t know if I’ll do this every week, but I ran across this on another writer’s blog today and it sounded like fun, so I’ll give it a try.

This week, I’m sharing the first six sentences from an unpublished manuscript I write ages ago. The sentences are short, so it’s not much of a snippet, but see if you can figure out what it is.

As an ACLU lawyer, I shouldn’t be defending a religious bigot. But here I am. Go figure.

My excuse for this shocking defection? My mother made me.

            Go ahead and laugh.

Any idea which of my four unpublished novels opens with these six sentences? You’ll find the list on the “Unpublished Works” page of this blog.
